From Sokhumi, head southeast on A-146 Road towards New Athos. After approximately 30 minutes of driving, you will reach the village of New Athos. Look for signs directing you to Anacopia Fortress, which is located just outside the village. There is a parking area near the base of the fortress where you can leave your car. Please note that there may be a small parking fee.

From Sokhumi, take a marshrutka (minibus) heading to New Athos. Marshrutkas leave from the central bus station in Sokhumi and the journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in New Athos, ask the driver to drop you off near the Anacopia Fortress, or walk toward the fortress, which is about a 20-minute walk from the town center. There may be a small fare for the marshrutka, typically around 50-100 RUB.
