Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start from Batumi, the capital of Adjara. Head southeast on E70 (also known as the Batumi-Tbilisi highway). After approximately 20 km, take the exit toward Makhuntseti Waterfall (look for signs). Continue on the local road, following signs for Makhuntseti. The road will lead you through beautiful countryside and small villages. As you approach Zeda Makhuntseti, keep an eye out for a small parking area on your right just before reaching the waterfall. Parking is usually free, but ensure your vehicle is securely parked.

• Public Transportation

  For public transportation, you can take a marshrutka (minibus) from Batumi to Makhuntseti. The marshrutkas leave from the Batumi bus station, located near the city center. Look for marshrutkas heading to 'Makhuntseti' or 'Zeda Makhuntseti.' The fare is usually around 2-3 GEL (Georgian Lari) per person. The journey will take about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Zeda Makhuntseti, you will need to walk approximately 20 minutes uphill to reach the waterfall. Follow the local trail signs, and enjoy the scenic walk.

• Hiking

  If you're feeling adventurous and are already in the vicinity, you can hike to Makhuntseti Waterfall from the nearby village of Makhuntseti. This hike is about 3 km and will take approximately 1 hour. The trail is well-marked, and you'll experience stunning views along the way. Be sure to wear appropriate footwear as the path can be rocky.
