If traveling by car, begin your journey from Akhaltsikhe and head northeast on the E60 highway towards Tbilisi for approximately 45 km. At the junction near Dmanisi, take the exit towards Dmanisi (G33W+7CG) and continue for about 10 km until you reach the Black Lake area. Parking is available near the lake.
Public Transportation
To reach Black Lake via public transport, take a marshrutka (minibus) from Akhaltsikhe to Tbilisi. At the Tbilisi bus station, transfer to a marshrutka heading towards Dmanisi. Confirm with the driver to stop near Black Lake. The journey takes approximately 2-3 hours. From Dmanisi, you can walk or take a taxi to Black Lake, roughly 10 km away. A taxi from Dmanisi to Black Lake should cost around 15-25 GEL.
