6 May Park, a verdant retreat in the heart of Batumi, has been a cherished landmark for over a century. Founded in 1881 under the guidance of gardener Ressler, the park's design was further enhanced in 1885 by French gardener Michael D'Alphonse. Originally named Alexander's Garden in honor of Emperor Alexander III, who planted trees there in 1888, the park has evolved through several transformations, finally being named 6 May Park in 2006. Today, the park spans 78,000 square meters and features the serene Nurigeli Lake at its center, offering boat rides and picturesque views. Visitors can explore a mini-zoo, an aquarium showcasing Black Sea and exotic fish species, and a dolphinarium that was the first of its kind in the Soviet Union. The park also provides various recreational activities, including walking, jogging, and cycling paths, as well as children's playgrounds and a Roman-style open theater. The park's rich history and diverse attractions make it a must-visit destination for tourists seeking a blend of relaxation and entertainment in Batumi.
