Getting There

Car

If you're driving from the center of Guria, head towards the city of Kutaisi. From Guria, take the E60 highway towards Tbilisi. After approximately 40 kilometers, follow the signs for the S1 road towards Gori. Continue on the S1 for about 30 kilometers until you see the signs for Uplistsikhe. Take the exit and follow the Uplistsikhe Complex Road until you reach the entrance of the historical site. There is parking available at the site, which is free of charge.
Public Transportation

To reach Uplistsikhe via public transportation, start by taking a marshrutka (minibus) from the center of any town in Guria to Gori. Marshrutkas leave frequently and the journey takes about 1 hour, costing approximately 5 GEL. Once you arrive in Gori, you need to transfer to another marshrutka heading to Uplistsikhe. The ride from Gori to Uplistsikhe takes about 15 minutes and costs around 2 GEL. The marshrutka will drop you off at the entrance of the Uplistsikhe Complex. Be sure to check the marshrutka schedule for the return journey.
Taxi

If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Guria to Uplistsikhe. This option is more expensive, typically costing between 30-50 GEL depending on your starting location and negotiation. The drive will take approximately 45 minutes. Make sure to agree on the fare before starting your journey.
