Once you reach Shatili, continue on the road that leads into the mountains. After about 10 km, look for a small dirt road on your left which leads to Chkheri castle. This road may not be well marked, so it’s advisable to use GPS coordinates (42.0009204, 43.228283) to help navigate. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for rough terrain, as the road may be bumpy and uneven. Parking is available near the castle.

For those relying on public transportation, take a marshrutka (minibus) from Khevsureti heading towards Shatili. The journey takes about 1 hour and costs around 5-10 GEL. Upon reaching Shatili, you can either hike towards Chkheri castle or arrange for a local taxi to take you the remaining distance. If you opt to hike, be prepared for a moderate trek of about 8 km uphill. Follow the path towards the mountains until you reach the dirt road leading to the castle. The hike should take approximately 2-3 hours depending on your pace. Make sure to wear sturdy shoes and bring water.
