For those using public transportation, take a marshrutka (minibus) from Tbilisi to Kazbegi. From Kazbegi, you can find another marshrutka heading to Shatili. The journey from Tbilisi to Kazbegi costs around 10 GEL, and from Kazbegi to Shatili, it can cost about 15-20 GEL. Upon arriving in Shatili, follow the directions to M542+33P to reach Castle Kacho. Expect a short hike from the marshrutka drop-off point to the castle.
