Getting There

• Public Bus

  From the center of Kutaisi, head to the central bus station (Kutaisi Bus Station) located on David Agmashenebeli Avenue. Look for buses heading to Motsameta, which are typically marked with their destination. The bus ride will take about 20-30 minutes. Alight at the stop closest to Motsameta Monastery, which is usually announced by the driver. From there, follow the signs or ask locals for directions to the monastery, which is a short walk uphill.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi. You can either use a local taxi service or ride-hailing apps if available. Request the driver to take you to Motsameta Monastery. The journey should take around 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. Ensure to confirm the fare before starting your trip.

• Walking

  For the more adventurous, you can walk to Motsameta Monastery from central Kutaisi. Start by heading northwest on Tsereteli Street, then take a right onto Chavchavadze Street. Follow this road until you reach the main highway (E60). Cross the highway and continue straight for about 4 km until you reach the signs for Motsameta. The walk will take approximately 1-1.5 hours, so wear comfortable shoes and carry water.
