Car
If you are driving from any location in Kvemo Kartli, you will want to head towards Tbilisi. Start by taking the main road leading to Tbilisi, which is usually the E60 highway. Follow the signs indicating the direction to Tbilisi and continue until you reach the outskirts of the city. Once in Tbilisi, follow the signs to Mtatsminda Mountain. You will have to navigate through city streets—look for signs that point towards Mtatsminda Park. The mountain is located in the Old Tbilisi borough. There is parking available at the base of the mountain, but keep in mind that there may be a small fee for parking.
Public Transportation
For those opting for public transportation, start by taking a marshrutka (minibus) or bus from any major town in Kvemo Kartli to Tbilisi. The buses and marshrutkas depart frequently from central locations. Once you arrive in Tbilisi, you can catch the Tbilisi Metro at the central station (Varketili or Rustaveli Metro Station). Take the metro to the 'Rustaveli' station. From there, you can either walk or take a taxi to the base of Mtatsminda Mountain. The walk is approximately 20-30 minutes uphill, or you can find local taxis that can take you directly to the entrance of Mtatsminda Park. The taxi fare typically ranges from 5 to 10 GEL.
