    Bazaleti Lake, located 60 km northwest of Tbilisi and 5 km south of Dusheti, is a captivating destination in eastern Georgia. This volcanic lake, with a surface area of 1.22 square kilometers and a maximum depth of 30 meters, is set on the Bazaleti Plateau at an altitude of 900 meters, surrounded by the Gudamakari and Lomisi ranges. Known for its therapeutic properties, Bazaleti Lake is fed by rainwater and mineral-rich underground springs. The water is believed to alleviate dermatological, gynecological, rheumatic, and bone and joint conditions. The lake's algae give it an emerald color and contribute to its healing properties. The area's climate is considered beneficial for cardiovascular and blood disorders. Bazaleti Lake is also rich in history and legend. The Battle of Bazaleti took place here in 1626 between rival Georgian factions. Local legends tell of a golden-lipped child in a golden crib at the bottom of the lake, formed from his mother's tears. Another legend says the lake was formed when a bull fell into a well, with the ensuing water creating the lake. Today, Bazaleti Lake is a popular recreational area with a modern tourist complex. Visitors can enjoy swimming, fishing, kayaking, and camping. The lake is also a spot for bird watching. Nearby attractions include the ancient city of Mtskheta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Ananuri Fortress.
