Driving
From Tbilisi, the journey to Gombori Pass typically starts by heading east on the Kakheti Highway (also known as the S5). Follow the highway until you reach the turnoff for the Gombori Pass road. The road is well-maintained but winding as it ascends. There are no tolls on this route. Parking is available at viewpoints along the pass. There are no associated costs.
Public Transport
While direct public transport to the summit of Gombori Pass is limited, you can take a marshrutka (minibus) from Tbilisi's Ortachala bus station towards Telavi or other towns in Kakheti that lie beyond the pass. Inform the driver that you wish to be dropped off at a scenic point along the Gombori Pass road. The fare for a marshrutka from Tbilisi to Telavi is approximately 8-10 GEL. From the drop-off point, you can explore the immediate surroundings on foot.
