Getting there

Car

If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Zugdidi, which is the nearest major city. Head northeast on the E60 highway towards Mestia. After approximately 60 kilometers, take the exit towards Mtisdziri. Follow the signs for Mtisdziri, and continue driving until you reach the coordinates of Svaneti Tower at HVRC+PW, Mtisdziri. The tower is located on a hillside, and there is a small parking area nearby. Ensure your car is suitable for mountainous terrain as some roads may be unpaved.

Public Transportation

If you prefer public transportation, take a marshrutka (minibus) from Zugdidi to Mestia. The ride takes around 2-3 hours and costs approximately 15 GEL. Once you arrive in Mestia, you can catch a local taxi or another marshrutka towards Mtisdziri. Make sure to inform the driver that you want to go to Svaneti Tower, as this will help ensure you reach the correct stop. The taxi fare may cost around 10-20 GEL depending on the distance and negotiation.

Hiking
