Getting there

Car

If you're driving, start from the town of Mestia, which is the main hub in Svaneti. From Mestia, take the road towards Zhabeshi. After about 10 km, look for the sign for Heshkili. Turn onto the dirt road that leads to Heshkili Huts. The drive should take approximately 30 minutes. Be aware that the road can be rough, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. There's no parking directly at the huts, but you can find a spot nearby.

Public Transportation

To reach Heshkili Huts via public transport, you can take a marshrutka (minibus) from Mestia to Zhabeshi. The ride takes about 30 minutes and costs around 5 GEL. Upon arriving in Zhabeshi, you will need to hire a local taxi or arrange for a pickup to take you the additional 5 km to Heshkili Huts. Taxi fares in this area can range from 10 to 15 GEL. Make sure to negotiate the price beforehand.

Hiking

For the adventurous, you can hike to Heshkili Huts from Mestia. The trek is about 12 km and takes approximately 3-4 hours. Start by heading out of Mestia towards the village of Zhabeshi. Follow the marked hiking trails, which are generally well-maintained. Ensure you have proper hiking gear and enough water and snacks for the journey. The views along the way are spectacular, but be cautious of weather changes.
