If you're traveling by car, start from the town of Mestia, which is a central hub in Svaneti. Head south on the E117 road towards the village of Lentekhi. After approximately 18 kilometers, take the turnoff towards the village of Zhabeshi. Follow the signs towards Kakhisi Lake. The road may become rough, so be prepared for some off-road driving. The lake is located about 10 kilometers from Zhabeshi. Look for a small parking area near the lake.
Public Transportation
To reach Kakhisi Lake via public transportation, take a minibus (marshrutka) from Mestia to Zhabeshi. The journey takes about 30-40 minutes and costs around 5 GEL. From Zhabeshi, you will need to walk approximately 10 kilometers to reach Kakhisi Lake. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, as the trail can be steep in places.
