Car
If you are driving from Mestia, head southeast on the S1 road towards Zugdidi. After about 30 kilometers, take the exit onto the S1 towards Batumi. Continue for approximately 70 kilometers until you reach the town of Chakvistavi. From Chakvistavi, follow the signs for Mtirala National Park. The entrance is located at MV6H+M57. Make sure to check your vehicle's fuel level, as there are limited fuel stations along this route.
Public Transportation
From Mestia, take a marshrutka (shared minibus) heading to Zugdidi. The journey takes about 2-3 hours depending on stops. From Zugdidi, you can find another marshrutka that goes to Batumi. After arriving in Batumi, take a taxi or local bus to Chakvistavi. Once in Chakvistavi, ask for directions to Mtirala National Park, which is about a 15-minute drive from the town center. Be prepared for costs: marshrutkas from Mestia to Zugdidi typically cost around 15 GEL, and the trip from Zugdidi to Batumi may cost about 10 GEL.
Taxi
If you prefer not to deal with public transportation schedules, you can hire a taxi directly from Mestia to Mtirala National Park. This option will be more expensive, with costs ranging from 100 to 150 GEL depending on your negotiation skills and the taxi service. Ensure that the taxi driver knows the exact location of the park, which is MV6H+M57 in Chakvistavi.
