Getting There

Car
If you are driving from Mestia, head south on the road towards the Svaneti Range. Follow the signs indicating 'Svaneti Range' and continue for about 12 kilometers. You will enjoy beautiful views along the way. There are few small parking spots where you can stop and take photos of the mountains. Once you reach the trailhead, park your car there as the road may become rougher. Ensure that you have a sturdy vehicle as some parts of the road might be unpaved.

From Mestia, take a shared minibus (marshrutka) headed towards Ushguli or the higher villages in Svaneti. The marshrutkas leave regularly from the central bus station in Mestia. The fare is approximately 5 GEL. The journey will take about 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the road conditions. Ask the driver to drop you off at the closest point to the Svaneti Range. From there, you may need to walk a short distance to reach the hiking trails.
