Getting There

Start your journey from Mestia, the main town in Svaneti. Head southwest on the main road (E117) towards Zugdidi. After approximately 10 km, take the right turn towards Jvari. Follow this road until you reach the village of Lasdili. From Lasdili, take the unpaved road leading to the Zagari Pass. Be prepared for rough terrain, and ensure your vehicle is suitable for off-road driving. The total drive will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on road conditions.

From Mestia, take a shared taxi (marshrutka) to Zugdidi. The ride usually takes about 2-3 hours. Upon arrival in Zugdidi, you may need to hire a local taxi to take you to the village of Jvari. After reaching Jvari, you can either continue by taxi or start walking towards the Zagari Pass. Note that public transport may not operate frequently, so plan accordingly.
