If you are starting from Rustaveli Avenue, walk towards the Freedom Square. From Freedom Square, head south on Shota Rustaveli Avenue until you reach the intersection with Kote Marjanishvili Street. Turn left onto Kote Marjanishvili Street and continue straight until you get to the intersection with the river. Cross the river via the bridge (Mtkvari River Bridge) heading towards the old town. Once you cross, keep walking straight until you see the Metekhi Church on your left, situated on a hill overlooking the river. You can also see the statue of King Vakhtang Gorgasali nearby.

Public Transport
If you are at the Tbilisi Central Railway Station, take the Metro from the station and board the Line 1 (Red Line) towards the 'Vazha-Pshavela' station. Get off at 'Rustaveli' station and transfer to a minibus (Marshrutka) heading to 'Avlabari'. Once you reach Avlabari, walk towards Metekhi Street. The church is a short 5-minute walk away, located on a cliff overlooking the river.

From the Narikala Fortress, which is a popular tourist destination, make your way down towards the Old Town. Head towards the Metekhi Bridge, which connects the fortress area with the other side of the river. Cross the bridge and you will see the Metekhi Virgin Mary Assumption Church directly ahead on the elevated ground. The walk from Narikala Fortress takes about 15-20 minutes.
