Nestled within the David Gareja monastic complex in Kakheti, Georgia, Natlismtsemeli Monastery, also known as Saint John Monastery, is a historical and architectural treasure dating back to the 6th century. Founded by Father Lucian, a disciple of St. David, this cave monastery features numerous cave temples and a central church, bearing witness to centuries of Georgian Christian heritage.

Driving
To reach Natlismtsemeli Monastery, head towards David Gareja. Approximately 5 kilometers before reaching David Gareja Lavra, look for a signpost indicating a right turn. Follow this road for about 4 kilometers; note that the road may require a reliable off-road vehicle. Upon arrival, parking is available near the monastery gates, after which you'll need to proceed on foot. There are no tolls or parking fees.
Public Transport
From Tbilisi, take a marshrutka (minibus) to Sagarejo or Udabno. Marshrutkas depart from the Samgori metro station. From Sagarejo or Udabno, hire a local taxi to Natlismtsemeli Monastery. The marshrutka fare from Tbilisi to Sagarejo/Udabno is approximately 5-10 GEL. A taxi from Sagarejo to the monastery may cost around 20-30 GEL.
