From Uplistsikhe, head southwest on the main road (E117) towards Akhaltsikhe. Continue for about 12 kilometers until you reach the turnoff for Akhalkalaki. Turn left onto the road marked for Akhalgori (Rkoni). Follow this road for approximately 18 kilometers until you see signs for Rkon Castle. There is a parking area near the castle where you can leave your car.

Take a marshrutka (minibus) from Uplistsikhe to Akhaltsikhe. These usually leave from the central bus station. The journey takes about 30 minutes and costs around 2 GEL. Once in Akhaltsikhe, you can catch another marshrutka heading towards Akhalkalaki. Make sure to ask the driver to let you off at Rkon Castle, as you may need to walk a short distance from the main road.
