From Vardzia, head east on the E40 road towards the town of Aspindza. Continue on this road for approximately 15 kilometers until you reach the turnoff for Apnia. Turn right onto the local road towards Apnia. After about 5 kilometers, you will see signs for Mtkvari Canyon.
