Car
From Vardzia, head east on the main road (E117) towards Aspindza. After approximately 10 km, you will reach a fork; take the left road towards the village of Mkinvartsveri. Continue on this road for about 5 km until you arrive at a small parking area near the base of the mountain. There are no parking fees. From the parking area, follow the marked hiking trail to Mkinvartsveri, which will take about 30-40 minutes of uphill walking.
Public Transportation
From Vardzia, you can take a local minibus (marshrutka) heading towards Aspindza. The marshrutka will drop you off at the intersection near the village of Mkinvartsveri (check with the driver to ensure you get off at the right spot). The fare is typically around 2 GEL. From the drop-off point, you will need to walk approximately 5 km to the parking area near the mountain base, and from there, follow the marked hiking trail to Mkinvartsveri, which will take about 30-40 minutes.
