Discover more about Bosch Brewery

The Bosch Brewery, located on Wycker Grachtstraat in Maastricht, is the last complete city brewery in Maastricht and a unique industrial monument in the Netherlands. Brewing started on this site in 1758, but it was in 1827 that Nicolaas Bosch acquired the brewery, transforming it into one of Maastricht's largest. The brewery ceased operations in 1970, but has been preserved, offering visitors a unique insight into the brewing methods and the lifestyle of the Maastricht elite of a century ago. The brewery complex includes a five-story floor malting plant, brewing facilities, and the brewer's house. Guided tours, led by enthusiastic volunteers, take visitors through the brewery, malt house, and the brewer's residence, complete with period rooms and a spiral staircase. These tours provide a detailed look at the traditional brewing process and the equipment used. The tour concludes with a tasting of two special beers, accompanied by local cheeses. Individuals can join tours on Friday and Saturday afternoons, while groups of six or more can book tours any day of the week. The brewery also hosts events and offers themed tours, including one that explores the "Grand Chic de Maastricht". The ground floor is accessible, and tours are available in Dutch, English, German, and French.
