Walking from the main train station (Aachen Hauptbahnhof) takes approximately 15 minutes.

Aachen City Hall can be reached by bus from Aachen Hauptbahnhof (main train station). Several bus lines stop near the Markt, including lines 11, 21, 25, 45, 51, 52, SB20 and SB63. Check the ASEAG website or the movA app for the most up-to-date schedules and connections. A single bus fare within Aachen is approximately €2.80.
Taxi
Taxis are readily available in Aachen, including at the main train station. A taxi ride from Aachen Hauptbahnhof to the City Hall will take around 5-10 minutes, depending on traffic. Expect to pay approximately €10-15 for the ride.
Parking
Several car parks are located near Aachen City Hall. The Rathaus car park is located directly by the Rathaus, with access via Mostardstraße. Other nearby options include the car parks at Couvenstraße and EBV Carré. Expect to pay around €2.50 per hour for parking. Note that the Rathaus car park is undergoing renovation works until the end of 2026, which may affect availability.
