Walking
The Cafe-Bistro is located inside Neuschwanstein Castle, on the second floor. After entering the castle with your tour ticket, follow the signs to the cafe. Note that a guided tour is required to enter the castle. From the ticket center in Hohenschwangau, the walk to the castle is a steep, uphill journey of about 1.5 km, typically taking 30-40 minutes. Consider wearing comfortable shoes.
Shuttle Bus
From the parking area in Hohenschwangau, take the shuttle bus up to Neuschwanstein Castle. The bus will drop you off a short distance from the castle entrance, from where you can walk to the entrance and then to the Cafe-Bistro on the second floor. A ticket for the shuttle bus costs €3 uphill, €2 downhill, or €3.50 for a round trip. Tickets are available on the bus. From the bus stop, it is a 500-meter downhill walk (10-15 minutes) to the castle entrance.
Horse-Drawn Carriage
Take a horse-drawn carriage from Hotel Müller on Alpseestraße in Hohenschwangau to a designated area beneath the castle. From the carriage turning area, it is an uphill walk of about 450 meters (10-15 minutes) to the castle entrance, and then to the Cafe-Bistro on the second floor. The price is €7 for the ride up and €3.50 for the ride down. Tickets can be bought from the carriage driver.
