Public Transport
To reach Pöllat Gorge using public transport, take a train to Füssen station. From Füssen, catch bus number 73 or 78 towards Schwangau. Disembark at the 'Schwangau, Neuschwanstein Castle' stop. From there, follow the signs towards 'Pöllat Gorge'. It's a short walk of about 15 minutes along the well-marked paths leading you to the entrance of the gorge. A guest card (KönigsCard, SchwangauCard) allows you to ride regional buses and trains for free during your stay in Schwangau. Without a guest card, a single bus fare is around €2.50.
Walking
From the large car park in the center of Hohenschwangau, walk left across the car park in front of Café Kainz, behind the Hohenschwangau grammar school until you reach the access path leading to the old gypsum mill. From here, walk upwards along the Pöllat. The hike takes about 1.5 hours and covers approximately 4 km.
