Discover more about Märchenpark und Duftgarten Salzwedel

Märchenpark und Duftgarten Salzwedel is a delightful escape into a realm where fairy tales come to life amidst beautifully landscaped gardens. Located in the town of Salzwedel, this park offers a unique blend of amusement rides and tranquil natural beauty, making it an ideal destination for families and tourists alike. Founded in 2003, the Märchenpark began as a project to enhance the Salzwedel Christmas Market with fairy tale scenes displayed in wooden huts. The positive response led to a permanent installation of twelve Märchenhütte on the edge of the company grounds. Over time, the park expanded to include 35 Märchenhütten, eight regional sagas, a Märchenschloss (fairy tale castle), and a large playground. The park spans 45,000 square meters and features meticulously maintained gardens, including a white dream garden, an Asian garden, and fragrant pathways. Visitors can explore themed areas, enjoy picnic spots, and discover attractions such as a replica of the solar system, a Fachwerkstraße (half-timbered street) and a historic castle. The adjacent Irrgarten des Lebens (Labyrinth of Life) takes guests through the stages of life from birth to paradise. The park also includes a Spielscheune (play barn) with a climbing area, slides, and a ball pit. Seasonal events and the park's detailed design create a memorable experience for all ages. While some of the fairy tale figures may show wear, the park's cleanliness, engaging activities, and reasonable entry fee make it a worthwhile visit.
