    Discover more about Trinkhalle

The Trinkhalle (pump room) in Baden-Baden is an iconic structure that embodies the town's rich spa history and architectural elegance. Constructed between 1839 and 1842, the Trinkhalle was designed by Heinrich Hübsch in the neoclassical style, complementing the existing spa buildings. It served as a place where visitors could partake in the healing thermal waters that Baden-Baden is famous for. The building's most prominent feature is its 90-meter-long arcade, adorned with 16 Corinthian columns. These columns support a roof that provides a covered walkway for visitors. The façade is decorated with 14 murals painted by Jakob Götzenberger in 1844, depicting scenes from local legends and the history of the Black Forest. Today, the Trinkhalle serves multiple purposes. While a small fountain offers thermal water for sampling, its primary role is as a tourist information center. Visitors can also find a café and reading room in the building. The Trinkhalle stands as a monument to the 19th-century drinking cure and a reminder of Baden-Baden's historical importance as a spa destination.
