Getting there

Walking

From the Rerik town center, the beach is easily accessible on foot. Follow Dünenstraße towards the sea; the beach is at the end of the road. Walking time is approximately 5-10 minutes. No costs involved.

Public Transport

If arriving by bus at the Rerik bus station, walk east along Hauptstraße, then turn north onto Dünenstraße. The beach is at the end of Dünenstraße. The walk is approximately 15 minutes. A single bus fare within Rerik is approximately €2-3.

Driving

From the B105, follow signs to Rerik. Once in Rerik, follow signs to 'Strand' or 'Seebrücke'. Parking is available near the beach, but it can be limited, especially during peak season. Parking fees range from €2 per hour to €16 for a day ticket. Free parking is available on the outskirts of town, a 15-20 minute walk to the beach.

Strand Rerik, a six-kilometer-long beach on the Baltic Sea, offers a diverse coastal experience for every visitor. Beach volleyball, stand-up paddling, and surfing lessons are among the activities available.Lifeguards from the DLRG (German Life Saving Society) monitor the beach during the main season, ensuring safety between the Seebrücke (pier) and the Schustertreppe section. The Liebesschlucht (love gorge), marked by a large boulder in the water, is a particularly scenic spot.Rerik itself is a charming seaside resort with a rich history. Originally a Slavic settlement called Alt Gaarz, it was renamed Rerik in 1938. Today, it offers a blend of historical landmarks, including the St. Johannes Church and the Heimatmuseum, and modern amenities.Whether you're seeking relaxation, water sports, or a family-friendly environment, Strand Rerik provides an idyllic setting for a memorable Baltic Sea vacation.
