Discover more about Göhren Pier

Göhren Pier, or Seebrücke Göhren in German, is a captivating pier in the Baltic seaside resort of Göhren on the island of Rügen. The current pier, built in 1993, stretches 350 meters into the Baltic Sea, with 270 meters extending over the water. Access to the pier is through a charming pier house (Brückenhaus) constructed in traditional style, featuring white paint and a green roof. Visitors can enjoy stunning views of the Baltic Sea and the surrounding coastline from the pier. The pier also serves as a landing stage for cruise vessels, offering boat trips to the chalk coast and Peenemünde/Usedom. Göhren has a rich history of piers. In 1898, a 1,002-meter-long pier was constructed on Göhren's south beach but was later demolished during World War I. Another pier, 500 meters long, stood on the north beach and remained in use until the early 1950s. The modern Göhren Pier continues this legacy, providing a vital link to the sea and a beloved attraction for tourists. Göhren itself is a charming municipality on Rügen, known for its beautiful beaches and the easternmost point of the island, Cape Nordperd. The pier is easily accessible and well-signposted from various locations in the town.
