Walking
From the village of Zell, the ruins are approximately a 45-minute walk. Follow the signs towards Hohenfreyberg Castle. The path is uphill and requires a moderate level of fitness. No costs are associated with walking.
Public Transport
Take a train to Füssen. From Füssen train station, take bus line 73 towards Eisenberg. Get off at the 'Eisenberg, Schloss Hohenfreyberg' stop. From the bus stop, it is a short 10-minute walk to the castle. Bus fare is approximately €3-5.
Driving
From Füssen, head northeast on B310 for approximately 14 km. Take the exit toward B12/Eisenberg. Continue on B12 for about 3 km, and then take the exit toward Eisenberg. Follow the signs to Hohenfreyberg Castle. Parking is available below the ruins or at the castle museum. Parking costs are approximately €4 during the day.
