Public Transport
To reach the Schneefernerhaus, begin by traveling to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. From there, take the Zugspitzbahn (a cogwheel train) or bus to the Zugspitzbahn station at the base of the mountain. Purchase a Zugspitze Ticket, which covers the round trip. Then, ascend via the Eibsee cable car to the Zugspitze summit. From the summit station, follow the signs to Schneefernerhaus, a short 10-15 minute walk. A Zugspitze Ticket, including the train and cable car, costs approximately €73. A dog ticket costs an additional 7 euros.
Car
To drive to Schneefernerhaus, take the B2 road towards Zugspitze from Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Follow signs for Zugspitzbahn and park at the Eibsee parking lot. Parking costs approximately €6 per day. From the parking lot, take the Eibsee cable car to the Zugspitze summit. From the summit station, it is a 10-15 minute walk to Schneefernerhaus. A roundtrip ticket on the cable car costs approximately €73.
