Getting there

Train

Start your journey at Freiburg Hauptbahnhof (main train station). Purchase a ticket to Triberg from the ticket counter or using the ticket machines. Trains to Triberg run regularly, so check the schedule for the next departure. Once you arrive at Triberg train station, exit the station and walk towards the town center, which is approximately a 15-minute walk. Follow the signs to the waterfalls; you can also ask locals for directions.

Bus

From Freiburg, head to the Freiburg ZOB (central bus station) located next to the main train station. Look for the bus line that goes to Triberg. Purchase your ticket from the bus driver or at the ticket machine. The bus ride will take around 45 minutes. Once you arrive in Triberg, follow the signs leading to the town center and the famous Triberg Waterfalls.

Bicycle

If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle in Freiburg. You can find rental shops near the main train station. The route to Triberg is approximately 30 km and takes about 2 hours. Head towards the B31 road, following the signs for Triberg. The journey will take you through scenic countryside, and you’ll arrive directly in Triberg. Once there, follow the signs to the waterfalls.
