Getting There

• Walking

  If you are near Cologne Cathedral (Kölner Dom), exit the cathedral area and head east on Bahnhofsvorplatz toward Marzellenstraße. Continue straight to reach the main shopping area on Hohe Straße. Walk along Hohe Straße until you reach the intersection with Schildergasse. Turn left onto Schildergasse and continue until you reach the end of the street. Then, turn right onto Breite Straße and walk straight until you reach the Rhine River. Cross the river using the Hohenzollern Bridge (Hohenzollernbrücke) and continue straight on the other side until you reach Jupp-Schmitz-Plätzchen. The statue is located in the square, which is a short walk from the bridge.

• Public Transport

  Start at the Cologne Central Station (Köln Hauptbahnhof). From there, take the U-Bahn (subway) line U16 or U18 towards the stations that will take you to Neumarkt. Get off at Neumarkt and exit the station. Once outside, walk straight toward the intersection with Breite Straße. Turn left onto Breite Straße, and continue walking until you reach the Rhine River. From there, head towards Jupp-Schmitz-Plätzchen, which is a short distance away. The statue is located in the square.

• Biking

  If you have access to a bike, start from the Cologne Cathedral area. Head toward the Rhine River by taking the path along the riverbank. Once you reach the river, follow the bike path south along the river. This scenic route will lead you directly to Jupp-Schmitz-Plätzchen. The statue is located in the square, and there are bike racks available for parking your bike.
