If you are in central Cologne, start at the Cologne Cathedral (Kölner Dom). Head south towards the main train station (Köln Hauptbahnhof). From there, exit the station and walk towards the south on Bahnhofstraße. Keep walking straight until you reach the intersection with Hohe Straße. Turn right onto Hohe Straße and continue until you reach the Alter Markt square. From Alter Markt, walk straight onto the Heumarkt and continue straight until you see the famous Rathaus (City Hall). Marktpl. is nearby; just follow the signs towards the central market area.

From the Cologne Cathedral (Kölner Dom), walk to the nearest tram stop, which is 'Dom/Hbf' (the main train station). Take tram line 1 or 7 towards 'Bensberg' or 'Sülz'.
