The Majestic Willi-Ostermann-Brunnen: A Cologne Gem

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are near the Cologne Cathedral (Kölner Dom), exit the cathedral and head towards the main square, Roncalliplatz. From there, continue straight onto the Deichstraße. Follow Deichstraße as it curves left into the Unter Kästerstraße. After 200 meters, you will reach the Heumarkt. Continue straight across the square and turn right onto the Alter Markt. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with the Cäcilienstraße. Turn left onto Cäcilienstraße, and after about 300 meters, you will find Willi-Ostermann-Brunnen on your left, located in the Denkmalplatz area.

• Public Transport

  If you are near the Cologne Central Station (Köln Hauptbahnhof), board the U-Bahn (subway) line 16 or 18 towards the direction of either Bad Godesberg or Bonn and get off at the next stop, 'Heumarkt.' Exit the station and you will find yourself at Heumarkt square. From there, walk straight, crossing the square, and turn left onto the Alter Markt. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Cäcilienstraße. Turn left on Cäcilienstraße, and after about 300 meters, you will see Willi-Ostermann-Brunnen on your left.

• Bus

  If you are near the Cologne Central Station (Köln Hauptbahnhof), find the bus stop located just outside the station. Take bus line 133 towards 'Köln-Braunsfeld' and get off at the 'Heumarkt' stop. Once you exit, walk straight across the square, turn left onto the Alter Markt, and follow the directions as mentioned earlier. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Cäcilienstraße, turn left, and you will find Willi-Ostermann-Brunnen on your left after about 300 meters.
