Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from the Dresden Hauptbahnhof (main train station), exit the station and head towards the north exit. Once outside, turn left onto Wilsdruffer Straße and walk straight for about 900 meters. You will pass by the Dreikönigskeller and then the beautiful Semperoper on your right. Continue walking until you reach the Altmarkt square. From Altmarkt, head straight onto Theaterstraße, which will lead you directly to the Zwinger. Once you arrive at the Zwinger, you can enter through the main entrance located on Sophienstraße.

Tram
From the Dresden Hauptbahnhof, you can also take tram line 1 or 2. Board the tram from the stop located outside the main train station (Hauptbahnhof). If you take tram line 1, you will get off at the stop called 'Postplatz'. If you take tram line 2, get off at the 'Zwingertor' stop. From either of these stops, follow the signs that direct you to the Zwinger, which is just a short walk away.

Bus
If you prefer buses, you can take bus line 94 from the Dresden Hauptbahnhof. Board the bus at the main bus stop outside the train station. Ride for about 5 stops and disembark at 'Zwinger'. After getting off, it’s just a short walk to the entrance of the Zwinger located on Sophienstraße.

Bicycle
If you are renting a bicycle, head towards the Elbe river from wherever you are in the city. Follow the riverside path until you reach the Augustus Bridge. Cross the bridge and continue straight, keeping the river on your left. Once you reach the historic center, follow the signs to the Zwinger. The entrance is located on Sophienstraße, which is easily accessible by bike.
