Public Transport
From Essen Central Station (Essen Hbf), take the S6 train heading to Düsseldorf. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Düsseldorf Central Station (Düsseldorf Hbf), exit the station and follow the signs for 'Heinrich-Heine-Allee' tram stop. Board tram line U78 or U79 towards 'Düsseldorf Universität' or 'Düsseldorf Flingern'. Get off at the 'Heinrich-Heine-Allee' stop. From there, walk approximately 5 minutes towards Heinrich-Heine-Allee 16A, where the German Oper am Rhein is located.
Walking
If you are already in the city center of Essen, head towards the Essen Central Station (Essen Hbf). From the station, walk to the tram stop and catch the S6 train to Düsseldorf. After arriving at Düsseldorf Central Station, you can walk to Heinrich-Heine-Allee. The walk will take around 15 minutes. Head east from the station towards the street 'Worringer Straße', continue straight until you reach 'Heinrich-Heine-Allee'. Turn left and walk until you reach the German Oper am Rhein at Heinrich-Heine-Allee 16A.
Bus
From Essen, take bus line 140 from 'Essen Steele' bus station towards 'Düsseldorf'. This bus will take approximately 40 minutes to reach 'Düsseldorf Worringer Platz'. Once you arrive, you can walk to the German Oper am Rhein. Head towards 'Heinrich-Heine-Allee' and walk straight for about 10 minutes until you reach the venue at Heinrich-Heine-Allee 16A.
