Walking
If you're in the city center of Essen, start at the Essen Hauptbahnhof (main train station). Exit the station and head south on Gladbecker Strasse. Continue straight for about 1.2 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Altendorfer Strasse. Turn left onto Altendorfer Strasse and walk for another 200 meters. At the next intersection, turn right onto Wasserturmstrasse and continue straight until you reach the Rheinuferpromenade. The Pegeluhr is located at the end of the promenade near the Rhine River.
Public Transport - Tram
From Essen Hauptbahnhof, take the U11 tram towards 'Düsseldorf' and get off at 'Düsseldorf Wehrhahn' station. This tram ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you exit the tram, walk east towards the Rhine River along the Rheinuferstraße. Continue walking straight for about 500 meters until you reach the Pegeluhr, which is located on the promenade.
Public Transport - Train
From Essen Hauptbahnhof, take the S6 train towards 'Düsseldorf Hbf'. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once at Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof, exit the station and walk towards the Rheinufer (Riverside) by taking the exit towards 'Königsallee'. From there, walk south along the river promenade for about 1 kilometer until you reach the Pegeluhr.
