Public Transport
From Essen Hauptbahnhof (central station), take the U11 subway towards Gelsenkirchen-Buer. Get off at the stop 'Zollverein' (approximately 15 minutes). Once you exit the station, follow the signs for 'Zollverein UNESCO World Heritage Site'. Walk about 10 minutes towards the entrance at Areal B where Shaft 1/2/8 is located.
Walking
If you are in the city center, you can walk to Shaft 1/2/8. Head north on Gladbecker Str. towards Altendorfer Str. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Katernberger Allee. Turn left and follow Katernberger Allee for about 1.5 km until you see the signage for Zollverein. The site is on your right.
Bus
From Essen Hauptbahnhof, take bus line 140 or 142 towards 'Zollverein'. Alight at the stop 'Zollverein', which is a short walk to Shaft 1/2/8. The bus ride takes approximately 20 minutes, and the site is about a 5-minute walk from the bus stop.
