Walking
From the parking area near the open-air swimming pool in Streitberg (Am Bürgerhaus 4, 91346 Wiesenttal), follow the well-marked hiking trails uphill towards Neideck Castle. The walk takes approximately 20-30 minutes. The path is moderately steep in some sections, so wear comfortable hiking shoes. There are no admission costs to access the castle ruins.
Public Transport
From Nuremberg Hauptbahnhof (main station), take a regional train to Ebermannstadt. The journey takes approximately 1 hour. From Ebermannstadt, take bus line 389 towards Gößweinstein and get off at the 'Streitberg Neideck' stop. From there, follow the signs to Neideck Castle, which is about a 20-30 minute hike uphill from the bus stop. A single bus fare from Ebermannstadt to Streitberg costs approximately €3-5. Check the VGN (Verkehrsverbund Großraum Nürnberg) website for current schedules and fares.
Driving
From the center of Wiesenttal, follow signs towards Streitberg. Continue to the outskirts of Streitberg and park at the designated parking area near the open-air swimming pool (Freibad Streitberg). From there, follow the hiking trail uphill to Neideck Castle (approximately 20-30 minutes). Parking is usually free. Be aware that parking might be limited during peak season.
