If you're starting from the Hauptbahnhof (main train station), exit the station onto Bahnhofstraße. Head southeast along the street until you reach the intersection with Kaiserstraße. Turn left onto Kaiserstraße and continue straight until you reach the Römer, a historic square. From the Römer, follow the signs towards the river (Main). You'll see a path leading to the Iron Footbridge (Eiserner Steg) directly across the river from the Römer. The bridge is a short walk from the square.

From any central location in Frankfurt, locate the nearest U-Bahn station. Take U-Bahn line U5 towards Preungesheim or line U4 towards Bockenheimer Warte. Get off at the 'Willy-Brandt-Platz' station. From there, exit the station and head towards the river Main. Walk towards the Römer and follow the signs to the Iron Footbridge (Eiserner Steg). It’s about a 10-minute walk from the U-Bahn station.
