Getting There

  • Train

    From Frankfurt Central Station (Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof), take the S8 or S9 train towards Mainz. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Make sure to get off at Mainz Hauptbahnhof. Once you arrive at Mainz Hauptbahnhof, exit the station and head towards the bus station located just outside the train station.

    From Mainz Hauptbahnhof, take bus number 6, 60, or 68 towards 'Gonsenheim' or 'Heiliggeiststraße'. Get off at the stop 'Rheinisches Landesmuseum'. The museum is a short walk from the bus stop. Head north on 'Am Schinnergraben' towards 'Große Bleiche', then turn right onto 'Große Bleiche', and you will see the Mainz State Museum (Landesmuseum Mainz) at Große Bleiche 49-51.

  • Walking

    If you prefer to walk from Mainz Hauptbahnhof, exit the station and head south on 'Am Schinnergraben'. Continue straight for about 1.2 kilometers, which should take around 15-20 minutes. You will pass through the beautiful city center. Follow the signs towards the Rhine River and then turn left onto 'Große Bleiche'. The museum will be on your left side at Große Bleiche 49-51.
