Walking
If you are in the Westend district, you can reach Goethe House by walking. Head east on Bockenheimer Landstraße for about 10-15 minutes. Continue straight until you reach the junction with Große Eschenheimer Straße. Turn left onto Große Eschenheimer Straße and walk until you arrive at the intersection with Großer Hirschgraben. Goethe House is located at Großer Hirschgraben 23-25, which will be on your right side. The total walking distance is approximately 1.2 kilometers.
Public Transport (Tram)
From Westend, you can take the tram for a quicker option. Locate the nearest tram stop, which is likely at Bockenheimer Warte. Take tram line 16 or 17 towards 'Heiligkreuzweg'. After two stops, get off at 'Zielstraße' and transfer to tram line 12 towards 'Glauburgstraße'. Get off after one stop at 'Eschenheimer Tor'. From there, it’s a short walk: head southwest on Eschenheimer Tor towards Große Eschenheimer Straße, then turn left onto Großer Hirschgraben. Goethe House will be on your right at Großer Hirschgraben 23-25. Please note that a single journey ticket costs around 2.75 EUR.
Public Transport (U-Bahn)
You can also use the U-Bahn (subway). Walk to the nearest U-Bahn station, which might be 'Westendstraße' or 'Bockenheimer Warte'. Take U-Bahn line U6 or U7 towards 'Hausen' or 'Oberursel'. Get off at 'Eschenheimer Tor'. From the station, exit and walk towards Große Eschenheimer Straße, then turn left onto Großer Hirschgraben. Goethe House is located at Großer Hirschgraben 23-25 on your right. A single journey ticket will cost approximately 2.75 EUR.
