Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from Hannover Central Station (Hauptbahnhof), exit the station through the main entrance facing the city. As you step outside, you will see Ernst-August-Platz directly in front of you, just a short walk away. Cross the busy street in front of the station (Ernst-August-Platz) and you will find yourself in the town square surrounded by shops and cafes. The square is easily recognizable with the large statue of Ernst August on horseback.

• Public Transport (Tram)

  From the city center or any location in Hannover, you can take a tram to Ernst-August-Platz. Look for tram lines 2, 3, or 7. Board a tram heading towards either 'Wishing' or 'Burgstraße' and get off at the 'Ernst-August-Platz' stop. Once you exit the tram, you will be in the square, which is a vibrant area with various amenities.

• Walking from the Old Town (Altstadt)

  If you are in the Old Town (Altstadt), head towards the main street called 'Knochenhauerstrasse,' and continue walking until you reach 'Marktkirche.' From there, walk straight along 'Kurt-Schumacher-Straße' for about 10 minutes. This route will lead you directly to Ernst-August-Platz, which you will see as you approach the central area of the city.

• Public Transport (Bus)

  If you are further away, such as from the Hanover Zoo or the Maschsee, you can take a bus to the central area. Look for bus lines that stop at 'Ernst-August-Platz' or 'Hauptbahnhof.' After boarding, remain on the bus until you reach your stop. Once you get off, you will be right at the entrance of Ernst-August-Platz, a great place to start your exploration of the city.
