Driving
From Elbingerode, follow Büchenbergstraße north for approximately 2km. The Büchenberg Pit will be on your left. Look for the large, free parking area suitable for both cars and coaches. From Wernigerode, take the B244 towards Elbingerode. The Büchenberg Pit is located directly on the B244, approximately 8km from Wernigerode. Parking is free.
Public Transport
From Wernigerode, take bus line 265 towards Elbingerode. Get off at the 'Elbingerode, Büchenberg' stop, which is a short walk (approximately 500m) from the Büchenberg Pit. Check the Harzer Verkehrsbetriebe (HVB) website for current schedules and fare information. A single ticket from Wernigerode to Elbingerode costs approximately €3-€5.
