Driving
If driving from Wernigerode, take the B4 towards Braunlage. Continue on the B4 until you reach Torfhaus. From Torfhaus, follow signs towards Torfhausmoor. Parking is available at the Großparkplatz Torfhaus, approximately 80 meters from the National Park Visitor Center. Parking fees apply, typically around €5 for the day. From the parking area, follow the well-marked hiking trails leading east towards the Luchs Denkmal, about a 20-30 minute walk. Two free disabled parking spaces are available directly behind the entrance to the large parking lot, before the barriers.

Public Transport
From Wernigerode, take bus line 820 towards Torfhaus. The bus stop 'Torfhaus' is located a few meters from the National Park Visitor Center. From the bus stop, follow the hiking trails leading east towards the Luchs Denkmal, approximately a 20-30 minute walk. Bus fare from Wernigerode to Torfhaus is approximately €5-€7. Check the KVG Braunschweig website for current schedules and fares. Note that bus services may be limited on weekends and holidays.

If already in Torfhaus, follow the well-marked hiking trails leading east from the National Park Visitor Center towards Torfhausmoor. The Luchs Denkmal is approximately a 20-30 minute walk from the visitor center. The trails are generally well-maintained, but sturdy footwear is recommended. The Kaiserweg hiking trail is a popular route that passes near the monument.
