Getting there

Car

If you're driving from central Harz, head towards Wernigerode via the B244 road. Follow signs for Wernigerode. Once you enter Wernigerode, look for signs to the castle. The castle is located at Am Schloß 1, 38855 Wernigerode. There are parking facilities available near the castle, which may incur a small fee (usually around €2-€4 for a few hours).

Train

From various towns in the Harz region, take a train to Wernigerode Bahnhof (train station). The train ride is scenic and takes about 30-45 minutes depending on your starting point. You can walk to the castle, which is approximately 1.5 kilometers uphill from the station, taking about 20-30 minutes.
