Walking
If you are starting from Heidelberg's Old Town (Heidelberger Altstadt), head east on Hauptstraße, which is the main pedestrian street. Walk straight for about 15 minutes until you reach the intersection with the Neuenheim area. Continue straight onto the bridge over the Neckar River, known as Alte Brücke (Old Bridge). Once across the bridge, turn right and follow the road signs pointing towards the Heidelberg Castle (Schloss Heidelberg). You will walk up a gentle slope towards the castle entrance. As you reach the castle, you will find the Elizabeth Gate (Elisabethentor) on your left side, which is a beautiful historic landmark.

From Heidelberg's main train station (Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof), take the bus line 33 (direction: Schloss) directly to the Schloss stop. The bus ride takes about 15 minutes.
