Driving
If arriving by car from the town of Waldeck, follow the signs towards Schloss Waldeck. The road winds uphill to the castle entrance. Free parking is available for hotel guests in front of the hotel. Alternatively, public parking is available nearby, also free for hotel guests. Be aware that the road can be narrow in places. During peak season, parking at the castle can be limited, so arrive early.
Public Transport
From Waldeck Marktplatz, the nearest bus stop, it's approximately a 15-20 minute walk uphill to Schloss Waldeck. Bus lines 503, 510, 510.1, AST 581.4, AST 583.2, and AST 585.1 serve this stop. Check the NVV (Nordhessischer VerkehrsVerbund) schedule for the most up-to-date times and connections. From the bus stop, follow the signs towards the castle, walking through the town and then up the winding road to the entrance. There are no additional costs involved beyond the standard bus fare, which is approximately €2-4 for a short trip within the Waldeck region.
